Thanksgiving Day
in the
United States
Thanksgiving Day is traditionally celebrated on
the fourth Thursday in November.
In 2008 giving thanks is on November 27.
In 2009 giving thanks is on November 26.
In 2010 giving thnaks is on November 25.

Thanksgiving Day

The first Thanksgiving Day in the United States was celebrated in 1621. Many believe;
due to a thankfully, large fall harvest, a celebratory feast was organized by the Pilgrims
and eaten together with the Indians in a celebration of Thanks and appreciation. In a
continued yearly, Day of Thanks; Thanksgiving Day is now celebrated every year on
the fourth Thursday in November.

What does one do on the day of Giving Thanks?

Most of all Giving Thanks; which is now celebrated in a variety of ways.
Traditionally, it is celebrated with good food, a game of football, and most of all, family
and friends. Sharing traditions while relaxing with good company at home is a wonderful
way to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday.

The annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, is another popular
Thanksgiving Day celebration event.

Today, Thanksgiving also brings in the beginning of the Christmas season. Holiday
shopping gets off to a swift start, the day after Thanksgiving; which has become known
as one of the busiest shopping days of the year in the United States.
