Flowers for Valentine's Day!
Who wouldn't love to receive a dozen
red Roses for Valentine's Day?
The anticipation. The surprise.
The often asked question;
"I wonder who they're from?".
The feeling one gets, when a special
delivery comes to their door, creating a
precious Valentine's Day memory.

Valentine's Day is celebrated on February 14th. A day for
people to express their love and friendship to one another.
Loving thoughts of gifts in the form of flowers, cards or love
notes; known as Valentines, poems, presents, jewelry, and
candy. Valentine's Day brings out anonymous admirers;
often sending a gift of flowers with an unsigned card
attached.

Some people believe Valentine's Day was named after a
Christian Priest named Valentine who lived in Rome.
Put to death on a February 14 for defying the Emperor's
wishes that no soldier is to marry or to get engaged to be
married. Valentine had secretly married couples going
against the Emperor's wishes. The Emperor wanted his
soldiers to fight in wars, and not to be family men who
would be more likely to remain at home with their loved
ones.
After his death, Valentine was named a Saint. A holiday in
Rome known as Lupercalia, which was celebrated on
February 15, was than moved to February 14 in honour of
Saint Valentine
- known today as Valentine's Day.
